Zamak Die Casting

Zamak is a family of zinc-based alloys widely used for pressure die casting. Different grades offer different combinations of castability, strength, hardness, ductility, and finishing characteristics.

Zamak 3 offers an excellent balance of castability, dimensional stability, mechanical properties, and finishing characteristics, making it a widely used general-purpose zinc die casting alloy. Zamak 5 provides increased strength and hardness compared with Zamak 3, while remaining suitable for plating, finishing, and machining.

The appropriate alloy can be selected according to the component design, functional requirements, finishing requirements, and intended application.
